The attached photo is one of my favorites. The inscription on the back simply says "Eugene Fox -- Long Lake." There must be a thousand "Long Lakes" but Eugene was having a good day on one of them, those many years ago around the turn of the last century. One of the few photos I've seen this old actually taken from in the boat. My bet is this lake is now surrounded by cottages and submerged in the sounds of Jet Skis. Very sad.
